Today as I grabbed my afternoon coffee, I received an unexpected call from a client who was looking to buy and sell her home in the near future. After talking at length about her current home and future home buying needs, I rushed back to the office to start working. As I pulled up to the office Starbucks cold brew coffee in hand, I thought I truly love my job.
I love being able to help people meet their financial goals. Home ownership is such a large part of our lives. Owning a home means creating equity, tax write offs and potentially future capital. But home ownership is not cold, like a 401k or stock investment. Home ownership is a part of an owners every day life. This is the place where many home buyers will raise their children, hold family events, and a place where they will hang their hat everyday for years. There is something wonderfully fulfilling about helping a person navigate through a market to not only purchase something so deeply personal, but something that will also become a long term investment into their future.
I also love real estate because it is the perfect blend of social interaction and paperwork. I enjoy talking with buyers and sellers about their lives. Many buyers and sellers I have worked with became more like friends then clients. I enjoy hearing about their lives from new girlfriends, to kids growing up to challenges that they have been facing. On the flip side of the real estate coin is a vast amount of paperwork, tracking and diligence. Which I truly enjoy. I am one of the odd birds that loves paperwork, contracts and reviewing items with a fine tooth comb. Real estate is a balance between right brain and left brain functions. Including a vast array of activities from socializing, photography, promoting, advertising, writing contracts, negotiating, coordinating and much more.
At the end of the day, I am so fulfilled to help people achieve their real estate goals. Whether it is buying or selling a home. It is such an honor to be part of my clients lives, even if only for a short time, as they achieve their real estate dreams.
